Brooklyn Bridge

A city view and contemporary style with minimalistic design, cozy wooden elements, and a visually impressive kitchen island.

2022, Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Bridge Kitchen - set in an airy loft overlooking the iconic, eponymous bridge - is a study in materials. Informed by minimalist architecture, the focal point of the apartment plays wood against stone to fulfill the client’s vision of an ideal space for entertaining and playing their vinyl collection.

Fluted rift oak millwork extends the length of the windows, imbuing a sense of warmth throughout the space. The striking monolithic island is the heart of the kitchen: it is intended as a grounding moment, hewn from a slab the client fell in love with at the stoneyard, with edges rounded to soften and refine the quartzite stone.
